This blog was the follow-on from a series of posts on Facebook under the heading of ‘Wednesday Wisdom’. Having written these posts for a while, a number of people suggested that I write a book with them in, so I did. In the end, I wrote a different beast altogether and ‘Eggshells’ started to take form. The book is now available and is aimed at bereaved parents to see what journey I have followed as a bereaved parent. In addition though, friends and family can see what my new world is like, why it is so different from their’s and it might just explain why I am now a very different person.
In addition, Evie wrote a book while she was at school and that has now been published. The book is a powerful story, written by a 12-year-old, on how two young girls break free from the shackles of a patriarchal society. The book is called “Written by the Stars”. You can buy this book now from the Evie’s Gift website and a link is shown below. All the profits from the book go to Evie’s Gift the charity that we set up in Evie’s name.
Now my own first book has been added to the list. Eggshells is a delve into the world of bereaved parenthood, what it feels like, how we have or haven’t coped. It is raw and painful at times, but it is truthful and for me that is all that counts. Losing your child crystallizes things in your mind. It shows you what is important.
